The Borough of Sinking Spring is looking to hire a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator/ Lead Operator. The position given will be determined based upon experience and qualifications. The Operator will be responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of the 1.25 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant, collection and conveyance system, satellite pump station, maintaining compliance with required regulatory agencies, and monitoring and assisting wastewater personnel. It is preferred that the candidate have a minimum of 3 years direct involvement of treatment plant operations, pump stations, and collection systems. Candidate must possess a current Pennsylvania Class B Operators License, Class E Collection and Conveyance System with Sub Classification 1 (Activated Sludge) and Sub Classification 4(Collection System). A valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License Class B, with the air and tank endorsements or the ability to acquire it within 120 Days, and a clean driving record.

Lehigh County Authority Wastewater Pretreatment Plant in Allentown, Pa has an immediate opening for a licensed wastewater operator. The LCAWWPTP is an industrial pretreatment facility located in Upper Macungie Township. The plant treats waste from local industries and discharges to the Allentown sewer system. It is an advanced activated sludge treatment plant with a capacity of 5.75MGD, BOD of 76,500 lbs per day and 25,500lbs/day of TSS.  The current average flow is 5.0 MGD. The facility also manages an intensive hauler program. Solid waste is being land applied. Applicants should be experienced in the activated sludge treatment process. 

General requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Operator’s certification, preferred, but not required (Class A).
  • Some experience in operating wastewater treatment plants
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
