The Operator IV is responsible for operation and maintenance of equipment at large sized water/wastewater facilities.
  • Operates a variety of equipment/machinery including: valves, pumps, motors, belt presses, disinfection equipment, vehicles, etc.
  • Conducts routine testing, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of production wells, water/wastewater.

Lehigh County Authority is looking to add 2 Operations Maintenance Technicians to their Allentown, PA team.  The Operations Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all levels of skills and unskilled technical work in the maintenance and operations of wastewater and water systems. 

This role requires an experienced candidate who is familiar with wastewater / water and sewer maintenance and repair tools and methods.  Qualified candidates must possess (or have the ability to obtain) a Water Operator’s Licenses (Class A with subclasses) or a Waste Water Operator’s Licenses (Class D or better).  In addition, candidates must possess (or have the ability to obtain) a CDL Class A with tanker and air brake endorsement.  Knowledge of CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) or similar systems preferred.  Electrical license or knowledge of PLC motor controls and instrumentation is highly desired.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor is responsible for the operations of the wastewater pumping stations and treatment plant through Shift Supervisors and operational shift personnel. This individual directs all process control, solids management and air quality control activities for the attainment of state, federal, and local regulations and environmental standards. Minimum of six years progressive experience at similar facility with previous supervisory experience in wastewater or closely related field. Must have working knowledge of specific operational practices for wastewater processes, equipment, machinery, and pumps.

Shall possess an appropriate Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PaDEP) wastewater operator certification for A, 2 and E, 4 at minimum. May be required to obtain other PaDEP certifications as regulations and/or processes change.

Must possess valid PA driver’s license. A valid PA CDL Class B, w/ tanker endorsement and airbrake certification or greater is desirable.
