By focusing on the underlying concepts behind all attached growth processes, it is possibly to categorize the technologies available and better understand each process’ strengths and weakness. This presentation will categorize attached growth processes, introduce the fundamental concepts, and provide examples of technology for each process with the strengths and weaknesses of each. Most of us are familiar with chorine and ultraviolet disinfection and dechlorination, but many of us are not familiar with another potential option for us, Peracetic Acid (PAA) disinfection. PAA is not new in the wastewater disinfection world, but is new to most of us in Pennsylvania.
