Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Wastewater Operator to join our team. The Wastewater Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater facilities to ensure safe and efficient service. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of collection and conveyance systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer service. Key Responsibilities: • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. • Monitor wastewater equipment to ensure optimal performance. • Conduct routine inspections of the collection system, pumps, valves, and other components to identify and address any issues or potential problems. • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wastewater pump stations and infrastructure. • Operate jet truck and camara truck as needed. • Maintain accurate records related to equipment maintenance, and other relevant data. • Respond to alarms and emergency situations, including blockages, line breaks, equipment malfunctions, power outages, and spills. • Collaborate with team members to ensure the efficient and effective operation of wastewater treatment facilities. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in wastewater treatment or related field preferred. • Experience working in the wastewater collection and conveyance operations preferred but applicants with plumbing, electrical, utility construction or HVAC experience will be considered. • Ability to learn to operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, pumps, motors, and other related systems. • Ability to perform heavy lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, standing for long periods of time. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Effective communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. CDL license or the ability to obtain license preferred.
